All my Orehiki related info in one place
Orehiki encompasses a whole universe of characters who live and exist in the same area. Because of that, I have a couple different storylines that happen under this title! The main story of Orehiki is told from the Sengoku period through to the Reiwa era (the modern day), following Shige and Kiku's lives in the 16th century, as well as their deaths. Its comic and story is currently on a hiatus, but will return eventually. Then there are a couple other stories. The Side B story is related to the main story, and branches off of Keiichi's main arc to dive deeper into his backstory and show the people he knew in the past (as well as build up extra context to the arc he would have in the main story). The mafia AU takes the Side B story cast and turns them into a bunch of yakuza and police people, for funsies. This one doesn't have a comic, but rather is just a bunch of ideas at the moment, and has some written oneshots on Toyhouse.———

First is the main story of Orehiki.
—Shigesaburou's life up to now has been a lot to deal with, but after he abandons his duty and decides to live as a ronin, he has to figure out what matters to him the most. Meeting new friends and finding his place in this world seems easy enough, right? At least until his naivete is challenged by complicated relationships and grievances at almost every turn... in both the past, and the future.
The full title is Orehiki: I'll Break Away From My Meaningless Life! and it follows Shige through his life's trials as he makes new friends and finds out what it is that he truly wishes for.Sometimes it's just the simple things you want more than anything...
—This story is on a hiatus as I work my way through the Side B story, which you can read about on the next page.
Note: "Orehiki" (俺引き) is shorthand for its original title written in Japanese,
『何があっても、俺は我が無意義な人生から絶対に引き離して!』
[Nani ga Attemo, Ore wa Waga Muigi na Jinsei kara Zettai ni Hikihanashite! lit. "No Matter What Happens, I Will Definitely Separate Myself From My Own Meaningless Life!"]
The side story that tells of Keiichi's past...
—Keiichi is the homeroom teacher for class 2-D, at Hirayama's Kokusai High School. He never talks about his personal life in class, so the students don't know much about what he's like outside of school. But one day, a student named Eri notices that his teacher has been seeming incredibly down, as if there's something weighing heavily on him, and goes to see if there's anything going on with his usually cheerful teacher... and finds out there's a man, Souji, that knows his teacher on a personal level, but won't say what their relationship is. Things will eventually come to light, but not without a push, and Keiichi's life will be exposed.

Seven years before that day...Hazuki Sena, a young man in his early 20s, is working as a model for the agency Horizons. The day he meets one of the new managers in his agency, the tension is already at a boiling point. It's the day he would lose himself, his confidence, and his Horizons career in the same fell swoop, throwing away his Hazuki Sena alias and becoming Hasegawa Keiichi once more. But he wouldn't be lost forever, and eventually Keiichi would find himself fallen for a man named Souji, during a confrontation with old peers from Horizons. And for years, his love and confidence would bloom the longer he stayed with Souji.Until Souji's work sends him to Tokyo on a year long project, and he disappears before he's supposed to return.Something happened in Tokyo, and it'll uncover things that happened within Horizons, as all of Keiichi's old peers and colleagues start to expose everything.

In Tochigi Prefecture's capital city Utsunomiya, there is a prominent group of criminals whose organization goes by the name Daigenkai (大元会).Daigenkai's activites usually keep the city at peace, only causing problems beneath the surface of everyday life. Sometimes a few situations get out of hand, and it causes an uproar when a body or two is found, but otherwise if you keep your head down they won't be a problem. At least it was like that when Kazunori Aida was the leader, but after he was found dead inside his car near the Tsuruta train station, it seemed like the city started to get a lot more chaotic...—The mafia AU isn't canonically related to the rest of Orehiki, but I like crime dramas so I wanted to have fun with my Side B cast. Even if the situations aren't canon, they're all still in character!Note: Gokudou 極道 is a word that means evil or villainous path, and is used as a synonym for the yakuza.
